NOTD - My First Attempt at Nail Art

Hi Ladies!

I decided that since I have so many Julep polishes that I would try my hand at braided nails.  Now, this is my first ever attempt at trying something freehand like this so it is a tad smushy but I think it turned out pretty darn ok!

I got this tutorial from Rebecca Likes Nails who posted a lovely step by step guide.

I was so pleased at how this turned out and how simple it really was! I don't know if I would have the patience to do this on all 10 nails but I think it looks pretty cool as a few accent nails.

I used all Julep polishes: Amy, Niecy and Parker (L to R)

As you can see from the pictures I had a few slip ups and I found that my base color (Niecy) was not opaque enough to cover the blue Amy.  I had to use 2 or 3 coats of that every time which is why there is pink smudges everywhere.

One of these days I will have the time and money to afford a decent camera so sorry for the glare in the pictures!

Now I mean it ladies, If someone as un-coordinated as I can pull off something like this, so can you!

Just remember to use colors that are opaque in one coat or your going to have a really hard time.

Sarah

P.S.  I'll be posting what I got in my mystery boxes on Monday.  Have a great weekend!

  6. This looks great!!! I know, choosing the colours to see which ones look best on top of each other is always a little tricky. I always practice on nail wheels first to make sure the colours I've chosen work out because I hate having to redo my actual nails!
