May GlossyBox Review!

Hello Everyone!!

I thought I would do a quick review on my goodies I received in this months GlossyBox!

Once again this was May's box but I received it on June 1st....  The shipping still seems to be a little late.  I also never received a tracking number for this bad boy but GlossyBox informed us that this was Canada post's oops and no one got one.  Oh well on to the loot!

Also I apologize if the pictures are a little dark as it is a very gloomy day here in Vancouver (like most days in spring its raining AGAIN)

As per norm the glossybox arrived in the cutest packaging of all the other subscription company's:

And a list of all the products in the box:

And what did I get?

A full box!!!  It was nice and heavy when it arrived which usually means decent size samples.

1. Curel Foot Cream

Full Size: 100ml for $4
Sample Size: FULL SIZE
Significantly improve the look and feel of even the driest heels and feel with Curel foot therapy cream- Hydrates and softens dry, cracked feet in just 2 nights. NEW!

My Thoughts:  A nice full size product.  I tried this out right away and was impressed.  It absorbed quickly into the skin and made my feet feel really soft!  Nice!

2. Simple Eye Makeup Remover

Full Size: 125ml for $10
Sample Size: 56ml @ $4.50
Simple eye makeup remover effectively removes even waterproof mascara.  Dermatologist tested Opthalmologist tested, safe for sensitive eyes, Contact lens users, Hypoallergenic, Noncomedogenic.

My Thoughts: Its an eye Makeup remover and did exactly what it said it would do.  It took off my makeup.  I wont say its anything spectacular, but at least it didn`t irritate my eyes.  I`m just the type who prefers to use cream makeup remover as its easier.  I`m currently using Urban Decay Meltdown Makeup Remover.

3.  Simple Facial Wash Gel

Full Size: 150ml for $10
Sample Size: 50ml @ $3.30
Simple refreshing Facial Wash Gel leaves your skin thoroughly cleansed and revived, is a perfect blend of our purest skin-loving ingredients.

My Thoughts: Meh.  This literally has the consistency of hair gel which is odd and intriguing at the same time.  It says on the bottle to work it into a lather in your hands first but it really didn't lather all that well.  Oh well nice size sample though.

P.S There was an error on the card saying that these were full size items but upon closer inspection of their website they are definitely samples.

4.  boxx Cosmetics Cream Corrector in Melina

Full size: 4 Grams for $24
Sample Size: FULL SIZE
Oil-Free cream corrector blends seamlessly into skin leaving a natural and flawless velvety finish.  A multi-use product that serves as a primer, concealer, foundation, and brightener.

My Thoughts: Well, I definitely wouldn't use this as a concealer or foundation because it blends into skin and is completely clear.  That being said this is such a COOL product.  I have been trying it out as a foundation/concealer primer and its just lovely.  I'm in love.  And a full size product to boot.

I was reading on their website that they like to focus on minimalistic packaging (hence why it comes in a strange plastic case).  This would be perfect to throw into a Z or UNI palette.

5.  Sebastian Professional Volupt Shampoo

Full Size: 250ml for $15.78
Sample Size: FULL SIZE
Plump up the volume with Volupt shampoo from Sebastian Professional.  We wanted to give you this full size because you deserve it.

My Thoughts: Koodos on fitting a 250ml full size shampoo into one of these sample boxes Glossy! lol  This is why the box was so heavy, but a big thank you goes out to them!  As for the product itself, its also a meh.  Nothing too special but I'm sure I will use it up when I run out of my current shampoo.

So all in all a VERY nice haul

I spent: $15
Total value of the box: $51.50

My favorite products in this box would have to be the foot cream and the boxx corrector.  The other products are simply things I wouldn't purchase again because they aren't for me.  But this is the whole point of these boxes right? try things out before you buy them to see if you like them.

So if you do not already have one of your own its $15 a month and I would be entirely grateful if you could use my referral link by clicking HERE

I hope everyone has a great week and don't forget to follow and check out this weeks Blog Hop By clicking   HERE

P.S.  Did anyone else sneak a peek at GlossyBox USA first box? Not a bad haul but we need to be extremely thankful because they charge the U.S. customers $21!!!!!

  3. hey! i did actually see Glossybox USA's first box! $21 is a steep price to pay!
i also saw the special promo box they sent to vloggers/bloggers and that one was crazzzzzzy! it's unfair that they do that though because so many people will sign up because of that and then be disappointed

  4. The Canadian launch box to bloggers was also different from the paying customers. Not horifically so, but enough to be noticed.

Melina has to be one of the worst names for a colour ever. Nurses are laughing at it. Don't google it, just take my word for it.

I was hoping for more Euro products in GlossyBox due to their Euro history.

  5. I got mine in June too! I used to use the Simple products when I lived in the UK, and I agree the consistency of the face wash is weird. But - if you have sensitive skin, try out their toner. It's incredible and gentle on your skin. Also the moisturizer is pretty okay as well.

Great review of the box :)
